5. Analytics & Performance Monitoring
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect:
- Device ID and advertising ID
- Usage patterns and feature engagement

- Session analytics and user flow
This helps us improve app experience, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and understand user behavior.
6. Background Step Tracking
The App uses a background/foreground service (Android FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission) to continue tracking your steps when the app is minimized or the screen is off. This is required to accurately record physical activity and deliver step-based rewards. A persistent notification is displayed while this service is active, as required by Android system policy. We only collect step count data during this process — no audio, camera, or location data is accessed.
7. Rewards & Redemption
The App offers a points/coin-based rewards system for completing step goals, daily tasks, and challenges. Rewards may be redeemed for:
- ✔ Digital gift cards
- ✔ Other available in-app digital reward options
Important:
- Rewards are subject to availability and region-specific restrictions
- Rewards are non-cash, non-transferable, and digital only
- Rewards are issued only after meeting minimum redemption thresholds
- Redemption may take processing time as specified in-app
We do not offer cash withdrawals, bank transfers, investment products, loans, or financial services. Walk & Earn is not an employment platform and does not guarantee earnings or income.
All third-party brand names and logos used for reward descriptions are the property of their respective owners.
8. Data Security
We implement security measures including:
- Encrypted cloud storage (via Firebase)
- Access controls to prevent unauthorized access
- Secure data transmission using industry-standard protocols
- Regular security assessments and updates
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this policy, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We will remove your data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is legally required.

This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it immediately and terminate the associated account.

- Foreground Service Health (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_HEALTH) —required on Android 14 and above to run a health/fitness-related foreground service for continuous step tracking
- Foreground Service Special Use (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE) — required on Android 14 and above for foreground service functionality not covered by a predefined system category, used to support reliable background step tracking
- Wake Lock (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK) — used to prevent the device from sleeping while actively tracking steps, ensuring accurate step counts are not interrupted
- Receive Boot Completed (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — used to automatically resume step tracking after the device restarts
- Internet Access — required for account sync, tasks, points, ads, and redemption features
- Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used to display the persistent tracking notification, goal alerts, and reward updates
12. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date above and communicated via in-app notification where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
